Kayonza Parents School was founded in 1996 as a response to the devastating impact of the 1994 Tutsi Genocide. Many children were left orphaned, homeless, and vulnerable to social challenges. Recognizing the urgent need for support, our founder, Mrs. Mukankusi Flavia Gakwaya, took the initiative to provide education and care for these children. Understanding the challenges faced by many students who cannot afford secondary school education, Kayonza Parents School is expanding its reach through a Vocational Training Institute. This initiative aims to provide skills in electromechanical maintenance technology and computer science, ensuring that students have the technical expertise to secure employment or start their own businesses.
Located in Kayonza District, Eastern Province, our school has become a beacon of hope for many families. Through our efforts, we continue to support underprivileged children by offering quality education, psychosocial support, and skill development opportunities. Join us in shaping a brighter future for the children of Kayonza. Together, we can build a strong and self-reliant community.
